Girl Power Day is the signature program of GirlFuture, a 501c3 non-profit based in Palm Beach Gardens.  This is our 5th Girl Power Day, and each year the event has grown.

We have an amazing program planned for this year’s Girl Power Day.  Our theme is "Be Your Best YOU!"  The day will feature more than two-dozen interactive workshops that will help girls embrace their individuality and create the lives they want to lead.  There are workshops on such topics as: body image, collaboration and sisterhood, communication, conflict resolution, entrepreneurship, financial literacy, finding your passion, friendship, leadership, media literacy, risk-taking, self-love, self-presentation, stress management, time management, and more.   Adults will have their own workshops that will help them support the girls in their lives.

Following the workshop sessions is the Model This keynote speech by Bonnie St. John, who will tell her personal story. Named “One of the five most inspiring women in America” by NBC Nightly News, Bonnie St. John had her right leg amputated at the age of 5 and went on to become the first African-American ever to win Olympic or Paralympic medals in ski racing, taking home 3 medals in downhill events at the 1984 Paralympics in Innsbruck, Austria. Ms. St. John then graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard University, won a Rhodes scholarship, earned a Master of Letters in Economics from Oxford University, and served on the White House National Economic Council during the Clinton Administration. Ms. St. John is the author of six books, including her most recent best seller, How Great Women Lead, co-authored with her teenage daughter. She has been featured extensively in both national and international media including: Today, CNN, CBS Morning News, NBC News, PBS, NPR and The New York Times, as well as People, “O” and Essence magazines.

It's going to be a day you won't want to miss!
